The grass is greener…

Today I heard two proverbs that I liked a lot:

Dusron ki thali men ghee zyada — There’s more ghee in other people’s thali. The English analogue is: The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Ghar ki murghi daal barobar — Chicken cooked at home has no more value than daal. Daal is cheaper than chicken. The proverb says that we rarely value what we have.
